The process of Sharpening a Chisel to a Sharp edge must be very precise, and the old methods of using various grades of course grit stones finishing with a leather strop, is still valid today, but very time consuming and can have mixed results because maintaining the correct angle over a long period is not easy.

The machinery and methods we use put an edge on a chisel much quicker and with more consistent results.

The methodology to sharpen Plane Blades is essentially the same as for Chisels, first find the correct angle then work down the various grits.
